Canele

What makes it special

It's a custard! It's a cake! It's caramelized goodness in a three bite treat, with a rich history going back four or five centuries. Often described as "the best thing you'll never try", the dark color of the outside is nothing of which to be wary. The deep brown crust has a slightly bitter twang, flowing gracefully into the sweet custardy center. The texture can be compared to that of a piece of french toast. The canele has a delicate rum flavored finish(don't worry, the alcohol has been cooked out).


Ingredients

Whole milk, powdered sugar, eggs, Demerara sugar, organic wheat flour, rum, butter, vanilla sugar, cream of tartar.
