One of the oldest forms of direct marketing by small farmers is the local Farmers' market. All over the world the phrase ‘go to market’ refers to the weekly ritual of setting up tables, selling your product and the face-to-face meeting of producer and consumer.
Farmer’s markets are a great way to invigorate a floundering downtown, especially in some of the small villages whose facades are still elegant but whose economies aren’t. As bakers, we are often the consistent cornerstone of the market against which the seasonal varieties play. Our breads are always lovely, hearty and abundant while the lush tomatoes, peaches and arugula harvests come and go. We’re always very excited to bring our fresh, organic and whole grain breads to market (as well as our crispy croissants, moist muffins, crunchy cookies and all of our other sweets and treats).
We gather ingredients as locally as possible in order to present a variety of goods. Bread Alone delivers bread & pastries to farmers’ markets throughout the Hudson Valley and metropolitan New York all year long. From Union Square’s bustling Green Market to the small town markets found along the Hudson River, we sell at over fifty weekly markets during the summer months, and attend both indoor and outdoor markets through the winter.
